(1936-2003)
Devoted Husband, Father, Brother, Mentor,
and Avid Golfer
Ward as most people knew him spent much of his life as a factory representative traveling the country to support his family. Upon retirement, he devoted his life fully to those he loved and the hobbies he enjoyed. Ward bought a Cessna aircraft to share his love of flying and the area with anyone that wanted to take the trip. He would often take people up to show them Dale Hollow Lake from an arial perspective. On the ground, he often spent hours mentoring young people and sharing his passion for golf. He also made clubs for some of those fortunate enough to be able to learn from such a giving gentleman.

In 2003, the organizers of the Annual Chamber Golf Outing (Dr. Larry Mason, Gina Mason, Phillips Smalling and Andrea Burckhard) thought it a fitting tribute to name the annual outing after someone that had given so much of himself to the citizens of this area. Thus the name was changed to the 1st Annual Ward Robbins Chamber Golf Outing. Thank you to the family of Ward Robbins for sharing his name with the outing that is much loved by many of those he has left lasting memories with. Becky Pryor shared this with us at the 2nd Annual Ward Robbins Chamber Golf Outing: "Ward made a set of clubs for Chris (her husband). Chris gave me the clubs to use this year at the Outing. The clubs had a really good day." The Pryor's cherish the clubs and all Ward has done for them.

2006 Organizers & Sponsors:
