Pickett County's tranquil setting offers a bounty for hikers and mountain bikers. Pickett County offers many old logging trails, that only the locals know about, but private tours can be arranged through the Chamber. Pickett County also has Pickett State Rustic Park, with 11,750 acres of pristine wilderness with scenic botanical and geological wonders. Rustic cabins and chalets offer lodgining. Big South Fork, a national park offers primitive wilderness with vast timberlands, great cliffs and gorges and unusual rock formations, such as the Twin Arches. All within an hours drive of beautiful Dale Hollow Lake!


Bunkum Cave - With its mouth over 100 feet wide by 30 feet high and bisected by a small, clear stream, Bunkum Cave has been a delight to generations of adventuresome local explorers for years.

Pickett State Park
More than 58 miles of hiking trails meander through the wilds of Pickett. Many are lined with thick groves of thododendron and afford views of majestic forests, caves, natural bridges, waterfalls and sheer rock bluffs.
