| WELCOME
to the BYRDSTOWN-PICKETT COUNTY CHRISTMAS PARADE & CELEBRATION 2009! Parade Route: From PCHS, go left on Woodlawn Drive and right on Hillcrest Drive, and go to Main St (Former Keisling Insurance and Logan's Heating and Cooling). Turn left on Main St., down Main St. to Byrdstown Square and to the right of the Pickett County Courthouse. Please stay in the center of the road where possible, but be sure to be cautious of those watching the parade or ANY other obstacles. Following the parade we encourage you to stay in Town, there will be Hot Chocolate and Cookies at the Dixie Café with the Award Ceremony to follow as soon as possible after the parade. The Ceremony will be held at the Dixie Café and we invite everyone to come participate .there should be parking available at the Community Center, People's Bank & Trust and Regions Bank to name a few. While you are in Town awaiting the results of the 2008 Byrdstown-Pickett County Christmas Parade - We encourage you to visit the merchants in Town and discover the wide array of merchandise available locally! Don't forget our local restaurants! Stop by and tell them hello and grab a bite to eat while you shop or wait. They are sure to have something to please your palate and your wallet with tasty reasonably priced menu items - always. |

| 1. All Parade entries and applications must be turned in
to the Byrdstown Pickett County Chamber of Commerce by December
9, 2009 to be eligible for prize money! All parade entries
received after December 9, 2009 will NOT be eligible for prize money, but may participate in Parade. 2. No Santa on floats 3. All entries MUST sign-in and pick up number at the registration table at the Parade Line-up area. 4. All entries MUST arrive no later than 11:30 AM to sign-in, except horses may arrive up until 12:30 PM, but NO later. 5. All entries will be judged by the Christmas Theme: "Storybook Christmas" and judged on 3 categories: Theme, Originality & Attention to Detail. Use your imagination! And remember theme is only 1/3 of the points to be awarded. 6. Parade to have Performance stops at designated spots to enable floats with singers/dancers/musical instruments/clowns etc. to be able to perform. This will make the parade last longer and keep it closer together. |
